Saint Francis of Assisi (1181-1226) lived the simplicity of the gospel. He also possessed a deep reverence of nature and all living things. He allowed the beauty of creation to fill him with joy.
In 1979, St Francis was named the patron saint of environmentalists, ecologists and all who yearn to be responsible stewards of God’s creation. His life remains an invitation to all Christians to live more simply and to care for our fragile island home---planet earth.
You are invited to bring your animals and pets to the parish parking lot (near the side entrance to the church) at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 5th, as we pray that we will be good and compassionate stewards of God’s creation.
