A new altar cloth and set of sanctuary hangings have been placed in the church. Earlier this summer, both the Finance Board and Parish Council agreed that these would be appropriate additions to our church to honor the ministry of Fr. Thirb. A commemorative inscription has been sewn into the underside of the altar cloth.
The floor of the parish hall has been stripped and waxed. We wish to thank all those who facilitated this. This entailed a good deal of work. The floor looks great. Thank you all!
With the unanimous consent of the Finance Board and Parish Council, the parking lot foyer/entrance area to the church will be cleaned and repainted. Work is slated to begin within the next couple of weeks. While the area is being repainted, those attending weekday Mass may need to temporarily use the front door.
The Parish Council and Finance Board have discussed the need to repair or replace the exterior walkway to the church. The condition of the walkway has significantly deteriorated over the past few years. There are some safety concerns. We are currently receiving estimates for the work. Further updates will follow.
The votive light stand at the front entrance to the church is no longer properly functioning. We are in the process of replacing it.
The parish website is fully functioning. News and updates are being added daily. Please be sure to bookmark www.goodcounselma.com. If you have suggestions for additions to the site, please speak with Fr. Steven or email the information to [email protected]
We are also beginning to undertake the use of a platform called Flocknote which will enable communication from the Parish office via text and email. More information will be forthcoming.
