On Monday, August 15th, united with the church throughout the world, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In our liturgical calendar, it is a holyday. This year the Assumption falls on a Sunday. It is one of the most ancient feasts honoring Mary, the mother of Jesus, tracing its roots to the 5th century.
The Assumption celebrates God’s grace at work throughout Mary’s life, but more specifically, through the threshold of her death. This grace, this divine love, carried Mary, body and soul, home to God. We
will celebrate Mass at 9:00 am.
