The season of Lent begins this Wednesday, February 22. We will gather at the following times on Ash Wednesday as we prayerfully begin our journey toward Easter:
• 9:00 am – Mass with imposition of ashes
• 12 noon – Liturgy of the Word with the imposition of ashes
• 7:00 pm – Mass with imposition of ashes
The ashes imparted during the liturgy are an ancient sign, bespeaking our fragility and mortality. They are traced on our
foreheads in the sign of the cross as a reminder that Christ has entered our human condition and companions us throughout the
journey, even to death. Ashes signify our willingness to turn away from everything that would deter us from following Christ.
Easter is our hope. We are called to share in Christ’s victory. Ash Wednesday is a day of prayer and fasting for the entire church.
We invite you to join with us as we begin our Lenten pilgrimage united with Christians throughout the world.
